How to use the Sitemap Validator
Paste your sitemap XML directly into the input box, or click Upload File to load a sitemap.xml file from your computer
The validator parses your XML using the browser's built in DOMParser to catch malformed or broken markup
Each URL entry is checked for a valid loc tag, a properly formatted lastmod date, an allowed changefreq value, and a priority between 0.0 and 1.0
The tool also checks protocol level rules such as the 50,000 URL limit and 50 MB file size limit per sitemap
Use the Issues tab to see every error and warning, and filter by severity to focus on the most important problems first
Use the All Entries tab to review every URL entry individually along with its lastmod, changefreq, and priority values
Use Copy Report or Download Report to save the full list of issues for fixing later or sharing with your team
